Welcome Home!!

This past week my mom had not one but two back surgeries.. Crazy I know.. Nothing is ever simple with my mom.. But anyway, she is doing good and is now home... She has a long road to recovery but we are very hopeful that this is going to fix her problem.. Here is a little background history on this... A few months ago she was bent over dusting the coffetable and felt this pain in her back... Went to several doctors and they decided she needed surgery about four months ago.. They basically just cleaned out the base of her spine because she had bone fragments on the siatic(sp?) nerve that goes down the left leg and a bone spur pressing on it... Things never got better..actually to me she was worse. They tried nerve blocks and they did not work so they decided to do surgery.. So on Tuesday they did surgery #1..basically they took out a bone (bulging disc) and replaced it with a fake one (kind of like a spacer) and did some cleaning up of stuff that did not show up on the MRI.. On Thursday they did surgery #2...this one was to put in the screws...they held off on doing this to see if they needed to do more but her problem seems to be getting better so Thank God they were able to do what they call minor surgery.. On a funny note: I, along with some other family members, have decided this is our excuse not to clean...lol!!
